One Piece Fans Call Out White House Over Strange Meme Post

A recent social media post from the White House has caused quite a stir among anime fans. The official account shared an AI generated image that places Donald Trump, JD Vance, and other administration members on the Going Merry. The image attempts to frame the group as the Straw Hat Pirates, but the reception from the community has been largely negative.

Many fans took to social media to express their frustration. The most common criticism is that the administration values align more closely with the Celestial Dragons. In the series, these characters are depicted as oppressive figures who believe they are superior to everyone else, which is the exact opposite of what the Straw Hat crew stands for.

This reaction shows just how protective fans are of the series and its themes of freedom and equality. For those who follow the story of Monkey D. Luffy, seeing these characters used in a political context feels wrong. It remains to be seen if the administration will respond to the wave of criticism from the fanbase.
