Steel Ball Run Episode 7 Brings the Heat with Funny Valentine

The latest episode of Steel Ball Run keeps the tension at an all time high. We finally get our first proper look at President Funny Valentine, and he is every bit as menacing as fans expected. Even without seeing his full power, the way he handles himself on his private train proves that he is a threat unlike any other. Meanwhile, the show takes a trip into the history of the Saint, adding a heavy layer of mystery to the corpse parts everyone is fighting over.

Things get personal for Johnny Joestar in this episode. With Gyro missing and presumed captured, Johnny is left completely on his own to survive a brutal attack from a mysterious, child like Stand user. The episode does a great job of showing Johnny's fear as he drags himself through the desert, relying on his developing Stand, Tusk, to survive. The animation from David Production is as sharp as ever, capturing the gritty, violent atmosphere of the desert perfectly.

Voice actor Daman Mills really shines here, bringing out the raw vulnerability in Johnny as he grapples with the realization that this race is about much more than just crossing a finish line. The episode leaves our heroes in a truly desperate spot, setting the stage for what promises to be a wild follow up. Catch the latest episode now on Netflix to see how the chaos unfolds.
