Paramount and Netflix End Partnership for Animated Films

Big changes are happening behind the scenes for animation fans. Paramount and Netflix have officially decided to end their animated film agreement. This partnership started back in 2023 when Netflix signed a multi picture deal with Skydance Animation. The arrangement kept going even after Skydance merged with Paramount, but both companies have now mutually agreed to conclude the broader pact.

Even though the larger agreement is ending, fans of upcoming animated features can breathe a sigh of relief. In a joint statement, the companies confirmed that the split will not affect two major projects already committed to Netflix. Both Ray Gunn and Jack and the Beanstalk will still premiere on the streaming platform as originally planned.

This shift marks the end of a specific chapter for Skydance projects, but it secures a safe home for those two specific films. As the studios adjust their strategies moving forward, we will keep an eye out for where future animated projects find their homes.
