Netflix CEO Addresses Why Mindhunter Season 3 Never Happened

It has been years since we last saw the agents of Mindhunter, and many fans still hope for a surprise return. Netflix co CEO Ted Sarandos recently shed some light on the situation. During a public appearance in New Delhi, he was asked which show he wished had received more episodes, and he immediately pointed to this crime thriller.

Sarandos explained that a third season was always part of the plan. However, the production hit a wall because director David Fincher chose to focus his creative energy on his 2020 film Mank instead. This shift in priority meant that the series could not move forward as originally intended.

Since the show wrapped its second season back in 2019, it has remained one of the most requested titles for a revival on the platform. While this news clarifies the past, it does not confirm any future plans for the characters. For now, we will have to settle for rewatching the first two seasons.
