Historical war dramas often focus on the world wars, but The Uprising 2026 shifts the spotlight to the 1381 Peasants' Revolt. This film follows a fictional farmer named Ploughman, played by Andrew Garfield, as he leads a desperate rebellion against the crushing taxes imposed by King Richard II after the Black Death. Along the way, he joins forces with real historical figures like Wat Tyler and the priest John Ball to march on London.

The film features a standout performance by Woody Norman as a young, conflicted King Richard II who is caught between his own conscience and the greed of his advisors.
