Steins;Gate Re:Boot brings the iconic 2009 visual novel back to life with a fresh coat of paint. The game follows Rintaro Okabe and his small group of friends in Akihabara as they accidentally discover time travel. While the story begins with a slower pace that introduces the eccentric cast, the emotional payoff makes the investment well worth it for any fan of great writing.

Technically, this release is a massive upgrade. Illustrator huke has redone all the artwork from scratch, making the 2010 setting feel vibrant and authentic. The voice cast also returned to re record their lines, adding even more depth to characters like Okabe and Makise. Composer Takeshi Abo also updated the soundtrack, which helps ground the most emotional moments of the journey.

For those who have already played the original, the game includes a new Gamma Worldline route that adds fresh perspective to the story. While the core gameplay remains a classic visual novel experience, the Phone Trigger system keeps the player engaged with the narrative flow. It is a fantastic way to experience the story again or for the very first time.

You can pick up Steins;Gate Re:Boot on PC starting August 20. Console players on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch will be able to join the fun when the game arrives on October 29, 2026.
