Ranking Every Friday the 13th Film From Start to Finish

The Friday the 13th franchise remains a titan of the slasher genre. Over 46 years, it introduced us to one of cinema's most famous villains and helped launch the careers of stars like Kevin Bacon and Crispin Glover. While the movies have been dormant for years, fans are finally getting a new look at the Voorhees family with the upcoming Crystal Lake series on Peacock.

Looking back at all twelve films reveals a wild history. The 2009 reboot often sits at the bottom of fan lists for failing to capture the spirit of the originals, while entries like Jason X are remembered more for their chaotic space setting than their actual quality. It is a long journey from the gritty indie roots of the early entries to the experimental later sequels.

Some fans fondly remember the middle chapters for their campy charm and creative kills, while others prefer the earlier films for their raw tension. Regardless of where each film lands, the series left a permanent mark on horror culture. It is the perfect time to revisit these movies before the new television project hits screens.
