Nintendo Increases Repair Costs for Switch and Switch 2

Nintendo recently announced that repair costs for the original Switch and the upcoming Switch 2 will increase in Japan. The company stated that the price hike is due to the rising cost of replacement parts. These new rates apply to any consoles received for service starting November 16, 2026.

The cost to fix a CPU board for the Switch 2 will climb from 27,500 yen to 37,400 yen. For the original Nintendo Switch, the price for CPU board repairs is jumping from 16,500 yen to 26,400 yen. Other repairs like LCD screen replacements are also subject to these new pricing adjustments.

While this news is specific to Japanese customers for now, it is worth keeping an eye on your hardware status. If you have been planning to send in a device for repairs, it is best to act before the middle of November to avoid these higher fees.
