Kit Harington Joins HBO Harry Potter Series as Gilderoy Lockhart

Big changes are happening at Hogwarts before the cameras even start rolling. Kit Harington is officially joining the cast of the new Harry Potter series on HBO. He will be playing the role of Gilderoy Lockhart, the vain and famous wizard known for his self promoting ways.

Harington is taking over the part from Nicholas Hoult. While Hoult was previously announced for the role earlier this month, he has since stepped away from the project. Fans can look forward to seeing Harington bring this iconic character to life during the second season of the show.

The second season is set to focus on the events of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. We are excited to see how Harington portrays Lockhart and his antics as the professor who clearly loves the spotlight more than his teaching duties.
