Kadokawa Apologizes For Unauthorized Character Designs
Kadokawa admits to using character designs without permission in the manga adaptation of Pitch Black Infatuation.
manhwa.newsHey everyone, we have some surprising news coming from the manga industry today. Kadokawa and the editorial department of Young Ace recently released a formal apology. They admitted that the manga adaptation of Pitch Black Infatuation used visual designs from another series without getting proper authorization first.
The unauthorized designs came from Ieri Komen and their work on the Festival of Heresies manga adaptation. Even though both stories happen to take place inside the same fictional universe, the editorial team went ahead without securing the necessary permission from Komen. Fans of both titles have been sharing their thoughts online since the announcement dropped.
We will keep an eye on this situation to see if any further changes or updates are made to the adaptation. For now, the publisher has owned up to the mistake and apologized directly to the creator. Stay tuned here for more updates as they happen.
