GTA 6 Brings Major Changes to Weapon Carrying

Rob Nelson, the co studio head at Rockstar North, explained that the old way of handling weapons from the previous game does not fit the vision for the new title. In this installment, carrying a large firearm in a crowded area will cause the people around you to react. It means you will have to be more careful about how you move through the city.

This update is a clear push to make the interactions between the player and the world feel more grounded. By giving NPCs more personality and awareness, the developers want every trip into public spaces to feel like a real consequence of your choices.
