God of War Ascension DLSS Mod Backfires on RPCS3
A new experimental mod meant to boost visuals in God of War Ascension is actually hurting performance on the RPCS3 emulator.
manhwa.newsFans of God of War Ascension have been testing out a new unofficial NVIDIA DLSS 5 mod on the RPCS3 emulator. While people hoped this would improve the game experience, the results are quite disappointing. Instead of making things look sharper, the mod puts so much extra strain on the graphics card that the game struggles to keep a steady frame rate.
It is a strange situation because the game already runs at a smooth 60 frames per second on the emulator without any extra help. By adding this AI rendering technology, players are finding that their performance drops significantly. The mod creates a much heavier load on the hardware and ruins the stable experience that many players enjoy.
For now, it seems better to stick with the standard emulation settings for this classic title. Modders are still experimenting with these tools, but this particular project shows that adding advanced features to older titles does not always lead to a better result. We will keep an eye out to see if the developers find a way to make this technology work better in the future.
