Final Fantasy XIV Mobile Version Shutting Down in China
Square Enix and Tencent have officially ended their licensing deal for the mobile version of Final Fantasy XIV.
manhwa.newsSad news for fans waiting on the mobile version of Final Fantasy XIV. The service in China is officially shutting down on September 30. This decision follows a mutual agreement between Square Enix and Tencent to terminate their licensing contract for the game.
Beyond the shutdown in China, it appears that plans for a global mobile release have also been canceled. This leaves fans who were looking forward to a pocket sized version of the popular MMO disappointed, as there are no current signs of the project moving forward elsewhere.
While the mobile spin off is coming to an end, the main Final Fantasy XIV experience on PC and consoles continues to thrive. We will keep you updated if any new information comes out regarding future mobile projects, but for now, the mobile adaptation of Eorzea remains off the table.
