Could Sonic Mania 2 Still Happen? Sonic Team Boss Speaks Out

Sonic fans have been waiting for news on a follow up to Sonic Mania for years. While there is no game currently in production, Sonic Team leader Takashi Iizuka recently shared an update that gives us a reason to stay hopeful. He confirmed that a sequel is not completely ruled out for the future.

Iizuka explained that the team behind the original 2017 hit still has a strong relationship with SEGA. The door remains open for these creators to work together again on the blue blur. While nothing is locked in, the fact that leadership is still interested is a great sign for those who loved the retro style of the first game.
