Chronicles Medieval Promises Epic Battles and Open World Freedom

Chronicles Medieval is an ambitious new historical open world game set during the Hundred Years War. Players start as a nobody and climb the ranks within the British Isles, France, or the Holy Roman Empire. The game promises a full sandbox experience where you can manage an army, claim territory, run a shop, or even aim to become a king.

At Gamescom, we saw how the large scale battles function. Players participate in a planning phase to position their troops before switching to a third person view to lead the charge. With support for up to 2000 soldiers on the field, these skirmishes aim for high intensity. Commanders can move across the battlefield on horseback to shout orders and support their units in real time.

While the scope is impressive, the current build leaves some questions about how the strategy layers connect to the moment to moment gameplay. It is sometimes hard to tell how specific tactical choices impact the outcome of a massive fight. The developers have many plans for the game, including deep customization and varied career paths for your character.

We are looking forward to seeing how these systems come together as development continues. Raw Power Games plans to bring this medieval journey to Steam in 2027. There is plenty of potential for fans of historical strategy and character driven RPGs to look forward to.
