Cameron Scoggins Brings a New Side to Dorf in Crystal Lake

Fans of the Friday the 13th franchise remember Officer Dorf as a no nonsense cop, but the upcoming Peacock series Crystal Lake aims to show a different side of the character. Actor Cameron Scoggins plays a younger version of the officer who is eager to prove himself while working under Chief Levon Brooks. Scoggins notes that he used the original quirks and personality traits established in the 1980 film as a starting point for his own performance.

To make the character feel fresh, the show adds unique layers to Dorf, including an obsession with Bruce Lee and martial arts. Scoggins worked closely with showrunner Brad Caleb Kane to ensure these personal details felt grounded in the time period. Beyond the humor, the series explores the professional bond between Dorf and Chief Brooks. This relationship challenges Dorf as he tries to navigate his own beliefs against the small town prejudices of the era.

Viewers should expect a more complex journey for the character than what was seen in his original brief appearance. Scoggins and his co star William Catlett focused on building a meaningful connection that evolves throughout the series. You can see this new take on the iconic character when Crystal Lake premieres on Peacock on October 15, 2026.
