Brad Bird's Ray Gunn Debuts With High Praise on Rotten Tomatoes

Brad Bird is officially back in the director's chair, and his new project is already making waves. Ray Gunn debuted at the BFI London Film Festival on October 10, 2026, and it walked away with an impressive 90 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes. This is his first feature film since the release of Incredibles 2 back in 2018.

Fans of science fiction have a lot to look forward to with this one. The story is set in a place called Metropia, a massive city that blends futuristic detective tropes with a unique retro aesthetic. With stars like Sam Rockwell and Scarlett Johansson lending their voices to the project, the production quality is clearly top tier.

Produced by Skydance Animation, the film will eventually head to Netflix for all of us to watch. Early feedback suggests that Bird has captured that classic style he is known for while keeping the story fresh and exciting. We are keeping a close eye on this one and will let you know as soon as an official streaming date is announced.
