Akino Kondoh’s Box Garden Nominated for an Ignatz Award

Fans of independent manga have a new reason to celebrate. Akino Kondoh’s touching short story collection, Box Garden, has been officially nominated for the Outstanding Collection award at this year's Ignatz Awards.

This collection originally arrived in Japan back in 2004 via publisher Seirinkogeisha. Readers in the English speaking community finally got their hands on this release this past May when Glacier Bay Books brought it to the international market.

The nomination highlights the unique artistry and emotional depth found within Kondoh's storytelling. It is a fantastic recognition for a work that has remained a classic for two decades. We are excited to see how the collection fares when the final winners are announced.
